Anchored ("we," "our," or "the app") is a personal sobriety and recovery companion designed to support your journey. Your privacy matters deeply to us. This policy explains what data the app handles and how it is protected.
All personal data you enter into Anchored is stored locally on your device. This includes your journal entries, daily check-ins, goals, moods, streaks, letters, motivations, and any other content you create within the app. We do not operate servers that collect, store, or process your personal data.
Anchored does not collect, transmit, or share any of the following:
Anchored offers an optional encrypted backup feature that allows you to export your data to a file stored on your device. This backup is encrypted and never leaves your device unless you choose to share it yourself. We have no access to your backup files.
Anchored offers optional premium subscriptions and a lifetime purchase. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID.
Anchored offers an optional Face ID or passcode lock to keep your data private. Biometric data is handled entirely by your device's operating system. Anchored never accesses, stores, or transmits your biometric information.
If you enable notifications, they are scheduled locally on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.
Anchored does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
To display daily Bible verses, the app makes requests to bible-api.com, a public Bible verse service. These requests contain only verse references (for example, "Romans 8:28") and never include any data you've entered into the app. We do not control bible-api.com's logging or operational practices; refer to their service for details.
Anchored is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, please contact us so we can address it.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
